Officers | Real Estate Organization


The Real Estate Organization (REO) is the premier organization for students interested in investment real estate markets, analysis and professions.

REO educates, connects and advances its members across the commercial real estate industry, including development, brokerage, management, consulting and capital allocation.

REO provides its members with opportunities to personally interact with commercial real estate industry professionals, observe real estate projects first-hand and practically analyze real estate markets and investments.

Jared Harrell, JD

Jared P. Harrell, JD joined Texas Tech University in 2015 as an Assistant Professor of Practice, where he brings his experience as a real estate lawyer into the classroom. As an attorney, his legal practice focused on the successful completion of transactions by combining real estate experience with an understanding of finance and transactional economics.  Professor Harrell holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Texas A&M, a law degree from the University of Texas and a Master’s of Law and Finance from the University of Oxford.

  Dr. Stephen Buschbom

Dr. Buschbom received both his B.B.A. in Real Estate and his Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in real estate and a minor in finance from the University of Georgia. Prior to starting his Ph.D., he worked at Voya Investment Management in Atlanta for six years, where he started as an analyst and left as an assistant portfolio manager. His areas of research expertise are real estate finance and investment, mortgage-backed securities, urban economics and spatial economics.



Meg Meliet


Meg is a Finance Major with a concentration in Real Estate from New Orleans, Louisiana. After graduating in May 2020, she is excited to begin her commercial real estate career as an analyst on the Hines development team in Houston. Meg is also a member of the Rawls Business Leadership Program and Delta Sigma Pi.


Blake Steele

Executive Vice President

Blake is from Houston, Texas and is a finance major with a concentration in real estate. Upon graduating in May 2020, he plans to work for a commercial real estate brokerage firm.


Cameron Sanders

Vice President of finance

Cameron is majoring in finance with a concentration in real estate and plans to graduate in the spring of 2020. He is from Mansfield, Texas and hopes to land a job as a real estate investment analyst in the DFW area after graduation.


Riley Dow

VICE president of events

Riley is from Fort Worth, Texas and is a finance major with a concentration in real estate.


Ethan Wimberley

Vice President of Outreach

Ethan is a senior finance major who will graduate in May 2020. He also works with the Finance Association and Student Government very closely during the school year. He is pursuing his MSF upon graduation next summer.



Kaitlyn Eschenbrenner

Vice President of Marketing

Kaitlyn is from Las Cruces, New Mexico. She is Junior, majoring in Finance with a Real Estate Concentration. This summer, she will be interning in the Finance department at Dell, as well as working with WestMark Commercial Realty this school year.


Lily Vo

Philanthropy Chair

Lily is from Houston, Texas and is a finance major with a concentration in real estate


David Martin

Industry Chair

David is from Corpus Christi and is majoring in finance with a concentration in real estate. After graduating in December 2020, he plans to begin his career in commercial capital markets.
