The Real Estate Organization (REO) is the premier organization for students interested in investment real estate markets, analysis and professions.
REO educates, connects and advances its members across the commercial real estate industry, including development, brokerage, management, consulting and capital allocation.
REO provides its members with opportunities to personally interact with commercial real estate industry professionals, observe real estate projects first-hand and practically analyze real estate markets and investments.
Jared Harrell joined Texas Tech University in 2015, where he brings his experience as a real estate lawyer into the classroom. As an attorney, his legal practice focused on the successful completion of transactions by combining real estate experience with an understanding of finance and transactional economics. Professor Harrell holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering from Texas A&M, a law degree from the University of Texas and a Master’s of Law and Finance from the University of Oxford.
Carl Pankratz joined Texas Tech University in 2022, where he brings extensive debt and equity sourcing experience for all commercial real estate product types. He has served his communities in a variety of capacities, including as a city councilman and Mayor Pro Tem. Professor Pankratz has served on numerous boards and commissions, including the State Bar of Texas Real Estate Forms Committee and the Urban Land Institute of North Texas Advisory Board. He is a graduate of Southern Methodist University, where he was a member of the SMU football team, and also holds a law degree from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law.

Grant Fleming is from El Paso, Texas and is currently studying a Finance with a Certificate in Commercial Real Estate. He is a licensed real estate agent and intends to pursue a career in commercial brokerage after graduation

Roque Alaniz is from Edinburg, Texas. He is a Senior, majoring in Finance with a Real Estate Concentration. He is also currently studying to get his TREC license and plans to pursue a career in commercial real Estate development upon graduating from Texas Tech.

Sarah Auer is from Aubrey, Texas and is currently working towards a degree in Finance with a Certificate in Commerical Real Estate. Additionally, she is currently pursuing a real estate license with plans to focus in Tenant/Landlord Representation of commercial space.

Hayden Andrews is from Houston, Texas. He is a currently a senior majoring in Finance with a certificate in Commercial Real Estate. This past summer Hayden completed an internship with Highland Homes. Upon graduation in May 2023, he plans to pursue a career in commercial real estate development.

Jared Hoffman is from Dallas, Texas. He is a junior majoring in Finance with a Real Estate Concentration. Jared is a licensed real estate agent in Texas and eager to begin his career. Upon graduation in May of 2024, he is looking to pursue a career in real estate acquisitions.

Griffin Pitcher is from Southlake, Texas. He is a Senior, majoring in Finance with a Real Estate Concentration and is currently studying to get his real estate license. After graduating in December 2023, he plans to pursue a career in commercial real estate investments.

Sara Noll is from La Junta, Colorado. She is currently a senior, majoring in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate and Banking. After graduating in December of 2023, she would like to pursue a career in real estate appraisal.

Ben Fonville is from Snyder, Texas. He is a senior majoring in finance. Following graduation in May 2023, Ben plans to enter the field of real estate development.

Emily Anderson is from Dallas, Texas. She is a will graduate with a her Master’s in Finance in May 2023. During the past summer, Emily completed an internship with NorthMarq on their Debt/Equity Production team in Dallas, Texas.
CASNR Representative
Cody Thurman is from Saint Jo, Texas. He is currently in a Dual Degree Program studying both Agriculture and Applied Economics and Business Administration. He is also a member of the Pathway to STEM MBA Program and plans to obtain his Real Estate Certificate upon graduation. He plans to pursue a career as a broker after gradution.

Catherine Wright is from Lubbock, Texas. She is a junior majoring in Finance with a Real Estate Concentration. After graduating in December 2024, she plans to continue her education at Texas Tech University and obtain her Master of Business Administration. .
